The Sam & Bonnie Pannell Community Center can accommodate small gatherings of 20 people or large events of up to 300 people. For information regarding rentals and reservations, download the forms below:

Individuals must submit forms for each entity they wish to use. Submitting a form for the Sam & Bonnie Pannell Community Center does not automatically guarantee or include use of Pannell-Meadowview Swimming Pool, River Cats Independence Field, or vice versa.

Neighborhood Walks

Neighborhood Walks Program at Pannell Community Center take place on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 9am. Our walking program promotes, mind, body, and soul with an active Heart beat pulsing down 24th street to Meadowview Park and back. Council Woman Mai Vang leads the walks on Mondays and our supportive staff leads walks on Wednesdays and Fridays. Join us for a safe and friendly walk to better health! Youth and Teen Afterschool Programs

Monday – Friday, 3pm–6pm

Our afterschool programs provide a safe and enriching environment where students can explore, learn, and grow. Join us for engaging activities, homework support, and character-building experiences that set the stage for success both inside and outside the classroom. Available to both youth (Rec Express) and teens (Teen Scene) ages 6-17.

Kids Night Out & Hot Spot Remix – various dates throughout the year.

Open Computer Lab

Wednesdays and Fridays, 5pm–7:30pm

Need access to a computer? Drop in for open computer lab hours for adults to check emails and use the internet.

Open Gym

Tuesdays from 4pm–7pm

Drop into our multi-purpose room for some pick-up games! Sports rotate seasonally. Inquire with community center staff.

Ping Pong

Mondays and Wednesdays from 10am-1pm

Come and socialize while testing your skills in this high-paced game of ping pong. FREE

Pickleball

Mondays and Wednesdays from 3pm-7pm

Come sweat with Pickleball! Sign up with a partner or solo, doubles play available on 3 indoor courts.

Senior club (free)

Sign up for Senior Club and drop in on the activities below! Senior Club is a space where older adults can meet up, socialize, and participate in fun activities and group gatherings!

Coffee & Tea Station

Monday – Friday, 9:30 am – 10:30 am

Start your day off with some coffee or tea before making your way to the rest of our activities! Hosted by our community center staff.

Arts & Crafts

Thursdays, 1 pm – 2 pm

Join our community center staff for a variety of hands on arts & crafts projects!

Bingo

Every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month – 1 pm – 2 pm

Join our community center staff for some games of bingo and try your luck for a chance to win prizes!

*Bid Whist

Wednesdays and Fridays, 1 pm – 4:30 pm

Bid Whist is operated by an independent group. Drop in to play the classic card game of Bid Whist.

*Bridge

Mondays – 11 am – 3 pm

Bridge is an independent group run by the Sacramento Diamonds Bridge Club. Drop in to play the classic card game of bridge.

*General Crafters

Thursdays – 10:30 am – 2:30 pm (except for Summers)

General Crafters is an independent group that meets every Thursday to work on quilting or sewing projects as well as additional “craft” projects.

*Manitos Y Manitas del Sur

Fridays, 9 am – 1 pm

Manitos is an independent, Spanish speaking social group that meets every Friday to enjoy food, company, and song.

Join our community center staff as they put on a variety of exercise videos for you. Most exercises can be performed in a chair or standing. On occasion, we may have in-person instructors as special guests.

Sign up for Senior Tech and drop in on the activities below! Senior Tech is a space where older adults can strengthen their technology skills in a safe and patient environment.

Senior Open Computer Lab

Tuesdays-Fridays, 10 am – 12 pm

Join our community center staff for an open computer lab-style session geared for older adults. Our staff will help with basic computer or cellphone help. Use one of our computers or bring your laptop and your questions!
