On December 1, 2022, the Youth, Parks, and Community Enrichment Department re-assumed operations of Clunie Community Center, Shepard Garden and Arts Center, and The McKinley Rose Garden. Facility and rose garden use rental applications are being accepted for January 2023 through December 2023.

Camp McKinley (2024)

9am to 3pm - McKinley Park- Clunie Auditorium.
$125 per person. Mix big summer fun with big summer learning at McKinley Park- Clunie Auditorium. The Kids Camp experience is specially designed for ages 6- to 12-year-olds, with plenty of individual hands-on activities, supervised exploration, and interactive fun. The perfect way to keep your child engaged, sharpen your students’ skills, and bond with new friends. Campers should bring their lunch, water bottle, sunscreen, and snack to camp every day. Registration begins April 17th for the 2024 Camp season. Bring lunch/snack, water bottle, and sunscreen.
Recreation Explorer Camp

The REC Program is for 3-5 year old children. We will provide a recreational program filled with FUN activities. The program will focus on social, physical, academic, emotional and theme activities. We ensure your child is in a safe, supportive, and caring environment. All participants must be fully potty trained.

Zumbini

Created by Zumba and BabyFirst for kids ages 0-4, the Zumbini program combines music, dance, and educational tools for 45 minutes of can’t-stop, won’t-stop bonding, learning, and fun! Open to the child and Mom, Dad, Grandma, or any caregivers. Note there is a $15 material fee collected at first class for Zumbini sing-along book package: complete with book, music app log in, music cd, and story book's plush character.
Hot Lap McKinley Park

Come join us for a hot lap around McKinley Park every Tuesday at 10:00am! This activity is great for those looking to get some light exercise, socialize with others, and enjoy the outdoors. Meet us at the front steps at the Clunie Community Center and we'll take a leisurely stroll together. All fitness levels welcome!
Life History Writing

Living with Grief

Meeting Place: Shepard Garden & Arts Center
Participants will meet in a small group setting to express and understand feelings of grief, relief, guilt, sadness and hope. The group facilitator will provide guidance on reconnecting with self, family, friends and community and how to learn to live fully with grief. Body movement, such as QiGong, will be used as a tool for actively moving the energy of grief and heaviness out of the body.

QiGong is a time-honored movement practice often described as the art of effortless power. It mirrors the movement of nature and puts you in touch with the natural flow of energy in your body and mind. QiGong is a great workout. It is a way to clear any stress and tightness in the body. It builds strength and flexibility and promotes health, vitality, balance and well-being. It is also a form of moving meditation that helps you connect with the present moment. QiGong originates from China, about 4,000 years ago. It has a long history of helping people discover health and vitality from the inside out. Qi Gong is for anyone at any age or fitness level. Movements are simple, and beautiful. So let’s practice QiGong together and see for ourselves how wonderful and enlivened we can feel! Classes will be led by Julie Interrante, MA, Certified Holden QiGong Instructor
Strength and Balance

Tuesdays 9am to 9:45am
This class is specifically designed for older adults and focuses on improving muscle strength and balance. Exercises may include the use of weights, resistance bands, and body weight to improve muscle strength and endurance. The instructor will lead the class at a moderate pace and provide modifications as needed to accommodate different fitness levels. This class is a great way for older adults to improve their overall physical health and well-being.
