June
Join us in having some sensory friendly summer time fun at our Sensory Swim program! Once a week, we will open the pool for youth with disabilities and different sensory needs to enjoy the pool with their family. The first half of the swim time will be a quiet swim and the second half will be full of music, splash pad, games and more! Lifeguards will be in attendance as well as Access Leisure staff who can support youth needs. The purpose of Sensory Swim to have youth enjoy pool time and water play without the stress of a packed public pool. We ask that youth be with a parent or guardian when swimming and to keep the family invite to a minimum to allow for youth to enjoy the pool with peers. (note: this is NOT a swim lesson program)
Get your water movement on! Join us for our aqua aerobics series for teens with disabilities ages 13 - 22 once a month starting June 23rd. We will be moving and grooving to music in the water while we participate in some strength training and exercises and light cardio. After aqua aerobics, we allow time for social swimming in which teens can hangout with their friends and swim around the pool. Lifeguards will be in attendance and Access Leisure will be instructing the aqua aerobics as well as offering support in the pool.

What's better than making fun sensory art?! ART-TISM is a five week art series program during the summer for youth with Autism taught by Valene Byrd and supported by Access Leisure. Valene leads youth on the spectrum through art activities and encourages them to be as creative and free with the project as they want to be. ART-TISM is a space and opportunity for those to come as they are and express themselves how they want to through sensory art activities.
