Access Leisure Staff

Becky Farina

Native of Sacramento; but have traveled some of the world. Love long hikes/walks/runs, walks on the beach, cycling, snow sports (though I can't afford to ski anymore), kayaking, soccer, and other sports. Quieter and calmer activities will find me solving puzzles, listening to music, doing photography and other artsy stuff, and watching movies. My current quest is to run/walk a half marathon in every state (only 19 left to go)! To earn money to pay the mortgage, I make computers do things. Access Leisure is my moonlighting job which keeps life in perspective for me.

Thea Rosa

I’m Thea Rosa, born and raised in the Netherlands. Specialized in Alzheimer’s Disease and wound care I came to the United States to work as a LVN at the age of 21. I am 55 and have 3 children and 2 grandchildren. 19 years ago I sustained a spinal cord injury while horseback riding but it took me only 4 months to get back in the saddle. I love sports and everything outdoors.

Around 2008 I got introduced to Access Leisure and participated in Camp Rock & Roll Yosemite and other adaptive sports and got hooked. It didn’t take me long to start volunteering with Access Leisure.

In 2012 as a result of that I became a proud US Citizen after learning I would be an alternate to compete in the London Paralympics. Unfortunately, I did not compete there but I continued to train and race for a chance at the Rio Games. After a bad crash in 2014 I stopped racing at a paralympic level and was hired as a Recreation Leader in 2015.
