Free Leak Repair

The City of Sacramento provides free leak repairs and water-efficient upgrades to eligible low-income and single-family homeowners.

Water conservation staff will inspect eligible homes for indoor and outdoor leaks and coordinate with a City-contracted plumber to complete repairs once the project is approved.

Work completed through the program may help reduce a customer’s water and energy costs.

Eligibility

To be eligible, customers must:

  • Have an ongoing leak of at least 25 gallons per hour
  • Live in one of the red areas in the map below or be eligible for or currently participating in the City's utility rate assistance program
  • Receive City of Sacramento water service at the property
  • Own both the home and the land on which the home rests
  • Be a permanent resident of the home where plumbing assistance is needed
  • Verify permanent residency by identification, current utility bill, tax return or deed to the home

How to apply

Fill out and submit one of the applications below.

Wait for a call from water conservation staff to schedule an inspection to identify leaks at the residence.

Once approved, water conservation staff will coordinate with you to schedule a City-contracted plumber to complete repairs.
