Parking for large vehicles such as charter buses, school buses, recreational vehicles (RV), and trailers is available at various locations in downtown.

Please note any posted regulatory signage, stall sizes and payment requirements, if any. Availability of spaces at any of these locations is subject to change at any time.

Old Sacramento bus & RV parking

Bus parking: Located to the left upon entering the lot. There is no fee to park.

RV parking: Immediately ahead upon entering the parking lot. Payment of a flat fee is required. Payment allows up to 24 hours of parking.

Limited parking spaces for both buses and recreational vehicles (RV) are on a first come, first serve basis at the rear of the Sacramento Valley Amtrak parking facility (Lot 293).

Reservations are not available for any of these spaces. Bus drivers may opt to drop passengers off, then drive over to another free parking location near the State Capitol to wait on their group.

To access these spaces, drive down I Street towards the Old Sacramento district and proceed past the Old Sacramento Garage. The parking lot entrance is on the right hand side upon approaching the Sacramento Railroad Museum.

Front Street parking

Free bus parking spaces are located on Front Street, south of O Street and Riverfront Promenade. Please note where bus parking spaces start and end on this section of the street. Bus parking is only on the street, not in any nearby parking lots.

State Capitol bus parking

Many on-steet bus parking spaces are available around the State Capitol on a first come, first serve basis.

State Capitol security does not allow overnight parking on these streets. Parking regulations are strictly enforced.

15th Street, between L and N Streets, on the west side. (3-hour time limit)
East side of 10th st between L st / N st (this area is frequently posted for Special Events)
North side of L st between 12th st / 13th st (outside of the Hyatt Regency)

Alternative bus parking locations (meter & space reservation required)

These locations are available through the Meter & Space Reservation process. All applicable fees will be assessed.

Meters on the West side of 3rd st between Capitol Mall / N st. (note the RT Bus stop cannot be blocked. Limited availability due to frequent Special Events)
Pay-by-plate spaces on Railyards Blvd between Bercut Dr / 7th st. (Meter rate applies)
