Local merchants located in areas where off-street parking for employees is not available or limited may request Merchant Parking Permits for on-street parking as authorized under California Vehicle Code section 22507(b).
Merchant Parking Permits allow exemptions from posted time limits and meter payment requirements during prescribed hours and days at specified spaces on the streets.
Permits are in the form of ePermits, which utilize the vehicle's license plate number as the credential. Permits also require a monthly payment per vehicle.

Permit parking will be assessed for parking spaces near the merchant site.
Merchants with existing off-street parking that can accommodate staff parking are encouraged to use existing off-street parking. Security issues relating to the location of the site's off-street parking do not qualify as eligibility for the program and it is recommended that the site look into private security options as opposed to moving staff parking to the street.
