Delivery permits allow 30 minutes of parking in alleys for non-commercial delivery vehicles

Permit eligibility

Applicants must meet the following criteria to be eligible to purchase a Delivery Permit:

  • Possession of a a current Business Operation Tax Certificate from the City of Sacramento must be provided as proof to meet the City’s requirements to conduct business and perform work within the city limits. 
  • Each non-commercial vehicle must have a permit issued. No permit will be used for "VARIOUS VEHICLES" unless by prior arrangement with the Parking Manager. 


Please note that the above are criteria to determine eligibility only. Each application is subject to a review.

Submission of an application does not guarantee issuance of a permit. The applicant will be notified if the application is accepted or denied. 

Cost

Each permit  is $70.00 per year. This fee is not prorated. All permits expire June 30 of each year.

To apply for permit

Companies must submit a completed Delivery Permit Application, and letter on official company letterhead containing the following information:

  • A brief reason for requesting the permit(s). 
  • List of each vehicle by make, model, year, license plate number and color. (For new vehicles without plates, the VIN number should be listed).

Application and letter must be dropped off at the Revenue Customer Service Counter during office hours.

The Revenue Division will notify the applicant if the application is approved or denied. If the application is approved, then the permit will be available for pick-up at the Revenue Division upon payment of the applicable fee.
