The City currently has 1,200 alleys. Improvements have been made in the last several years to provide increased alley maintenance in various ways:
A single application applied once annually to the road base, helps mitigate or reduce airborne dust problems. Sacramento Regional Conservation Corps (SRCC) with crews of up to 10 people are deployed to clean alleys of brush, weeds, tree limbs, debris, and perform other routine maintenance services.

NOTE: Average cost for a PCC (Portland Concrete Cement) alley in midtown over $150,000 and requires buy-in of adjacent property owners that adjoin the alley.
