Erica (they/she) began organizing in college, where their work advocating for fossil fuel divestment fostered a deep understanding of how interconnected issues of justice are in today’s world. This understanding has motivated their journey through the nonprofit and activist worlds and underlies every part of their work at city hall. As Director of Constituent Affairs, they strive to support local Sacramentans by providing connections to city resources and uplifting community voices whenever she can.

Born and raised in Sacramento, I have a deep appreciation for this city and the vibrant community within it. I care for the well being of every individual that resides here and I am driven by my passion for uplifting those struggling in my community and giving voice to those who have been marginalized. In the District 4 office, I enjoy the opportunity to serve our constituents and share weekly updates in our newsletter. In my free time you can find me trying a new local food spot, going for a long walk when the weather permits, or hanging out with my little dog Laney. Sacramento is such a special place, and my love for this city is as boundless as it’s creativity and vivacity!

Born in Oakland and growing up in Sacramento, Mikayla has always considered the city of trees home. After experiencing the rise of the Black Lives Matter movement in a rural, predominantly white landscape, she realized the importance of community care and solidarity. After graduating from Humboldt State ('18), she moved back to the city that raised her. When she isn't at an action or in a zoom meeting, you can find Mikayla recharging her battery with her cats or dancing in her living room to some sweet tunes!
