Fostering Cyber Resilience: Empowering Sacramento with Cyber Literacy
The City wants to take a leading role in educating its citizens in the areas of cybersecurity and cyberhygiene. Technology is ubiquitous and prevalent in our lives and criminals exploit these technologies to perpetrate unlawful acts. We must empower our citizens and give them the requisite knowledge and awareness to prevent and stop cybercrime. Cybersafe Sacramento aims to do that!
Importance of online safe computing
When exploring the internet, you are visiting the vast digital landscape. Some may be safe and trustworthy, while others could be malicious. Visiting unknown or untrusted websites can expose your personal information to potential threats like malware, phishing scams, and data breaches. Just like you would not enter into unfamiliar territory without knowing it is safe, it is crucial to exercise caution when traversing the web. Stick with legitimate websites and avoid clicking suspicious links, downloading files, and providing personal information to unknown sources to keep yourself secure.
