Message from the Chief Information Officer

Darin Arcolino

Welcome to the City of Sacramento, Department of Information Technology!

We understand that technology is an essential part of modern life, and we aim to provide our residents with the most convenient and accessible services possible. Sacramento is a city where innovation and technology deliver services that are streamlined, secure, and easily accessible by all. We are a city where customers and citizens connect with government openly and interactively when and where they want.

Bio

Darin is a results-driven leader with over 25 years of experience in leading teams through IT transformation and organizational change within the Public Sector. For the past 16 years, he worked in the Information Technology Department at the City of Sacramento where he thrives in collaborating with business teams to identify opportunities to positively influence IT service delivery.

As Chief Information Officer, Darin manages effective and efficient day-to-day IT operations, to improve infrastructure costs, performance, and end-user satisfaction. He applied his business background to build relationships and public-private partnerships with wireless service providers, strategic partners, and other city departments to enhance wireless coverage for the citizens of Sacramento. He is currently leading the city’s digital equity efforts to help build out broadband to the underserved and unserved communities in Sacramento. He is most proud of his ability to collaborate and bring people together to build strong teams. Darin orchestrated the development of a robust IT Security Team that ensures the proper processes and solutions are in place to secure city assets and data.

Darin has lived in the Sacramento area for his entire life and has pledged to serve his community to build an inclusive government that strives for equitable access to essential services. He takes pride in creating a high-performance workplace culture that attracts and retains diverse talent that reflects the community in which we serve.

Darin holds a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Management Information Systems from CSU Sacramento.
