About about the Sacramento Area Girls Fire Camp

Each year, the Sacramento Fire Department proudly hosts the Sacramento Area Girls Fire Camp (SAGFC), a dynamic two-day experience designed for young women in grades 9–12.

Led primarily by dedicated volunteers—many of whom are women currently serving in the fire service—this unique camp offers hands-on training in basic firefighting and emergency medical skills.

With space for up to 50 participants, the program not only introduces youth to the fundamentals of the fire service, but also creates a supportive environment where they can grow, build lasting friendships, and connect with inspiring mentors who are blazing trails in their field.

What to expect to do.

The campers will have the opportunity to perform suppression skills such as: How to use a fire hose, cutting with chain saws, breaking doors open, search and rescue, ladders, CPR, first aid and much more!
