The Support Services Division is divided into three subdivisions: Logistics, Facilities and Fleet. The Support Services Division assumes a pivotal role in the agency by overseeing various critical functions, including station supplies and inventory management, emergency medical supplies, and the administration of a care and maintenance program for firefighter personal protective equipment.
In addition to supervising the Fire Department Fleet and Facilities. This division comprises a dedicated team of civilian and sworn personnel who actively supervise and execute essential tasks to ensure the seamless operation of the department.
Logistics encompasses the Personal Protective Equiptment (PPE) Office, Station Supplies division, and the Repair Service shop. Among the key responsibilities carried out by our personnel are the meticulous management, tracking, and distribution of firehouse supplies, as well as the maintenance and repair of essential power equipment, such as ventilation fans, chainsaws, and extrication equipment.
Additionally, our team is responsible for conducting routine repairs, testing, and calibration of self-contained breathing apparatus and performing testing and repairs on ground ladders.
Furthermore, our division takes on the critical responsibility of evaluating and testing equipment, while also engaging in extensive research and the design of equipment specifications before procurement.
We are steadfast in our commitment to enhancing organizational efficiencies throughout the procurement process and maximizing the effectiveness of the equipment and services we provide.
Facilities is responsible for the administration of all fire stations and administrative buildings, ensuring their efficient operation and providing comprehensive services to each of these locations.
Fleet is responsible for the comprehensive management of all departmental light vehicles, ambulances, and apparatuses, encompassing tasks ranging from specification and procurement to maintenance and performance enhancements.
