At the Sacramento Fire Department, we're here to serve you as a comprehensive fire department. Our dedicated team responds to a wide range of incidents, including fires, medical emergencies, hazardous materials situations, technical rescues, and water rescues.

In addition to our emergency response, we offer a complete suite of support and administrative services, encompassing fire prevention, investigation, logistics, training, fiscal management, human resources, and information technology. We're committed to safeguarding our community and providing the support you need.

Fire Chief

Chris Costamagna, the 23rd Fire Chief of the Sacramento Fire Department, mangages over 760 employees and a $191 million annual budget. With 33 years in the fire service, Costamagna has worked on the development and delivery of several pipeline programs, focusing on the Youth Academy and Reserves, working on re-engineering standards to reduce artificial barriers to entry into the fire service that were previously not recognized.
