Volunteering with friends can be fun! Do you have a group of friends, coworkers, or students who want to volunteer together for a service project? We would love to have you here at the Front Street Animal Shelter. All the activities make a difference here at the shelter and ultimately help us save more lives.

General guidelines

  • Group size minimum of 5 people to no more than 12 volunteers (including any family members)
  • We may be able to accommodate groups larger than 12 with advance notice of at least 2 months.
  • We can host service groups from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm to make the morning as impactful as possible. Service groups tasks on Wednesdays will help out the Pet Food Pantry Team.
  • All volunteers in the group must be 12 years or older, and there must be at least one volunteer who is 18 years or older in the group.
  • All volunteers in the group must wear closed-toed shoes and long pants. Please be prepared for the weather and dress accordingly.
  • Volunteering will be outdoors (rain or shine).

Your group will work on a variety of projects, such as:

  • Daily routine at the shelter
  • Deep cleaning areas of the shelter
  • Using a power washer
  • Window washing and sweeping
  • Raking leaves
  • Processing pet food donations for the pet food pantry
  • Special projects
  • And more!

While all of the jobs you will be doing will ultimately benefit the animals at Front Street, you will not be handling nor interacting directly with any of the animals. You may view the animals from outside the kennels.

Project assignments will vary depending on the needs of the shelter on the day of your project. We appreciate your willingness to help in whatever capacity is needed that day!
