To qualify for a free voucher through Front Street Animal Shelter's Community Spay and Neuter Voucher Program, you must be able to answer yes to these two questions:

1. Do you live within the city limits of Sacramento?

This program is only for residents who live within the city limits of Sacramento. Please verify your address by using the Sacramento County Parcel Viewer. After you enter your house number and street name, check the Property Information box in the left column and look for "Jurisdiction". If it shows "City of Sacramento," then you do reside within the city limits of Sacramento.

2. Does your household meet the definition of low-income?

This program assists City of Sacramento residents who are considered low-income. The low-income requirement is based on the 2024 state income limits for Sacramento County, as published by the California Department of Housing and Community Development.

People in the household:	Gross annual income of the household must be no higher than:

2	$75,450
3	$84,900
4	$94,300
5	$101,850
6	$109,400
7	$116,950
8	$124,500

Ready to apply?

If you have entered your address into the Sacramento County Parcel Viewer and determined that you live in the City of Sacramento AND your household meets the Sacramento County low-income guidelines, then follow the steps below based on whether you are a cat owner or a dog owner.

Please note that we do NOT issue vouchers for past appointments. In addition, you must have your voucher at the time of your appointment for it to be applied.

If you need to get your cat fixed . . .

OCTOBER 11 UPDATE: We do NOT currently have any appointments available for ALL CATS. If you have a cat, please make an appointment before applying for a voucher. We will not respond to any applications for cats that do not have an appointment included in the application.

Front Street can schedule a limited number of spay/neuter appointments for PET CATS each month. We do NOT issue vouchers for feral or free-roaming cats. If you need to fix your pet cat, please follow these steps to make an appointment:

Complete the spay/neuter voucher application. Allow 72 hours for a response.
Check your email for the next steps. We will provide you with the next-step details.

If you are accepted for a voucher but we do not have any available appointments, you will need to schedule your own appointment with one of our partner clinics:

Community Spay Neuter Clinic -- Search for an available appointment
Sacramento SPCA -- Put your name on the waitlist

Both of our partner organizations have backlogs, and you probably won't get an appointment right away. Keep trying!

If you need to get your dog fixed . . .

Front Street cannot directly schedule spay/neuter appointments for dogs. If you need to spay or neuter your pet dog, please follow these steps to make an appointment BEFORE you apply for a voucher:

Schedule your own appointment at one of our partner clinics:
* Community Spay Neuter Clinic -- Search for an available appointment
* Sacramento SPCA -- Put your name on the waitlist
Once you've scheduled your appointment, complete the spay/neuter voucher application. Please allow 72 hours for a response. Note that we will only reply to voucher applications with a confirmed appointment.
Check your email for approval status and voucher details.

Both of our partner organizations have backlogs, and you probably won't get an appointment right away. Keep trying!
