Welcome to the Front Street Animal Shelter

About

The Front Street Animal Shelter serves the City of Sacramento to shelter lost and stray animals while enforcing local and state animal welfare laws. Our diverse range of adoption, volunteer, and public outreach programs reflect our commitment to improving animal welfare throughout our community.

Take a shelter dog on a special day out!

Give a dog a day out of the shelter. It's a chance for them to experience joy and freedom. And you'll love it just as much as they will!

This is a wonderful opportunity in the life of a shelter dog by giving the dog a break from their usual environment. You can take a dog for a walk on a local trail, grab a pup cup, visit dog-friendly breweries, or simply relax at one of Sacramento's many parks.
