Supoenas for records of the Sacramento Police Department and for personal appearance of Sacramento Police Department employee must be served to the Sacramento Police Department Court Liaison Unit. Subpoenas may not be mailed, faxed, or dropped off directly to any other location other than the Sacramento Police Department facility located at 300 Richards Blvd.

Subpoenas for medical records related to a response by the Sacramento Fire Department should be directed to ChartSwap. Requester's will need to register, the following information is required:

Subpoenas for 911 call records should be directed to the Sacramento Regional Fire/EMS Communications Center. Contract the center directly by phone 916 228-3070 for specific service instructions.
Subpoenas for records, other than those of the Sacramento Police Department, and medical records of the Sacramento Fire Department are accepted by the Office of the City Clerk as outlined below. This includes subpoenas for records, employee records, worker’s compensation, and similar subpoenas for records.
All fees are due in accordance to applicable California and Federal Codes, and should be securely attached to the subpoena filing. Checks and money orders should be made payable to the City of Sacramento.
NOTE: Employees seeking of copies of their own employee records should contact the City of Sacramento Human Resources department via email at: employment@cityofsacramento.org. Authorized agents seeking records on behalf of City employees must include a signed verification letter with the request for records.
